Bowerboard · last updated August 10, 2026
Bowerboard is a private family planning board. It exists for one household, access is restricted to an explicit allowlist of family Google accounts, and nothing about it is public, advertised, or sold.
What Bowerboard accesses
With your permission, Bowerboard connects to your Google account and uses:
- Google Calendar (read-only) — events from the calendars you enable, to display them on the family board.
- Gmail (read-only) — recent inbox messages are scanned to suggest family-relevant calendar events (school announcements, invitations, schedules).
- Google Photos (picker) — only the photos you explicitly pick or share via an album link, for the photo screensaver.
- Your email address — to verify you are on the family allowlist at sign-in.
What Bowerboard stores
- Calendar events within a rolling ~30-day window.
- Short excerpts of emails that produced a suggested event, kept so you can see the source behind a suggestion.
- Event classifications, tags, chores, and family preferences you set.
- Copies of the photos you chose, for the screensaver.
Data lives in a private database and private file storage. OAuth tokens are stored server-side and never shared.
AI processing
Event titles, short descriptions, and email excerpts are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to classify events and suggest ones you might want on the board. This data is used only to produce those suggestions.
Limited Use disclosure
Bowerboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred except as needed to provide the board's features.
Deleting your data
Removing a Google account in Settings deletes its synced events and tokens. You can also revoke Bowerboard's access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions. For full deletion of anything else, contact us.
